January 2011 Newsletter

It's already starting off to be our most terrific year yet! In retrospect, I can't help but look back at 2010 with a sense of pride and acheivment.  We've had tremendous growth in the last 3 years, all thanks to supporters like you and parents with a passion for making a difference! I continued to be inspired by the new members who join our mission.

It gives me great pleasure to be able to announce that our staff has grown once again. We've added 2 more terrific leaders, Stephanie Anderson and Wendy Conte who are volunteering their precious time to support our cause. If you don't read the entire newsletter, at the very least, please take a moment to get to know them.

Also, you don't want to miss seeing all of the fantastic new business listings in just a few months! The directory is exploding with parents who are offering great products and services as a way of supporting their families. Why wouldn't you want to support their noble cause? LET'S KEEP THIS GOING!! It's the perfect time to take advantage of the momentum. Here is how you can do your part:

  1. Keep your profile updated. Make sure your website and email links are current as well as your keywords and phrases.
  2. Tell others that you can be found on the OMM business directory!
  3. Tell other parents to list their businesses on OMM! Show your support to family run businesses in your area by telling them about us and how we will help to get them exposure!
  4. Use the OMM business directory to do your searches- get to know the other parents who are just like you and connect!
  5. "Friend us" on Facebook and Twitter. Our purpose is to serve you and promote you, but don't make us work too hard. TELL US when you want us to get a message out about you.

I wish for you so many things in 2011, and to put my money where my mouth is, I am going to prove to you that we can make it our best year ever by working together. Last year, we did away with membership fees because the realization came that we would be more valuable in numbers and passion than in dollars. So far, so good! When we stick together, we are a force to be reckoned with.

Here's to us and working to give you the best year of your life! Thank you for  another amazing year. Enjoy!

At Our Milk Money, we don't discriminate. Moms have great stories to share, but so do the Dads. It is definitely a sign of the times when Dads from all over the world begin to step up as primary care-takers and embrace their roles as stay-at-home parents.

Parents, what you don't need is another public motivator telling you to stand up and take action. I am convinced that you already have the motivation you need to make a change for the better. What you don't have are the tangible solutions to put your enthusiasm into action. We've just started a new 13 week series and this time we are going to bring you real hands on courses of action that will allow you to leave the traditional work force and come home!
These next 13 weeks we'll be bringing you step by step tutorials on things like approaching your current employer with a telecommute proposal, surviving as a family on a single salary, and how to effectively barter yourself and your services to compensate for what may be lacking in your bank account. We'll bring you already established home based business models, like mom blogging, virtual assisting, project management, and a whole lot more.
